Hey, Pikachu! This is the Nintendo 64 video game that was released in 1998. It was developed by Nintendo and Ambrella. Its Japanese name is Pikachu Genki Dechu, pun in “Pikachu genki desu” (Pikachu is OK).

The game allows voice recognition technology to talk to Pikachu, the star of the game. It is one of two games used by the Nintendo 64 Speech Recognition Group (VRU), equipment capable of capturing and analyzing the human voice. However, it was the only game released in the United States to use the VRU. A similar technology was then used to create the Nintendo DS. The player can move and collect items, talk to Pikachu and describe everything about his surroundings.
This game also contains other Pokemon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Some of them can be controlled by the player’s megaphone. For example, using a megaphone to tell Haunter to leave, he is recorded to scare Pikachu and five Poliwag. The player can feed other people besides Pikachu. If you give Caterpy a rose, she’ll be a Metapod.
A sequel to “Hey You” is the Pokemon Channel, a game released three years later on Nintendo GameCube.
The game begins when the main character needs to try a new tool at the request of Professor Oak, which is used to talk to Pokemon.
