Not only does he go even further in horror, but he also manages to surprise all his fans with a new story. FNaF 4 includes, since Halloween 2015, a new mode called Halloween Edition . This mode can be found in the game itself.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter is actually the opening chapter of the series. The game reveals the whole truth about Fredbear’s Bite . We won’t tell you more. This is about controlling a somewhat cowardly child who has made up his mind to celebrate his birthday at Freddy Fazbear’s pizzeria in five days. You will understand: the mission is to survive until this date.

FNAF 4 is taking action in this child’s house, specifically in his room. For some enigmatic reason, the plush toys of Freddy, Chica, Foxy and company are alive and lurking in the hallways for the chance to slip into the kid’s room at midnight. You should not get caught until you wake up to six in the morning.

So no more pizzeria and cameras. The game mechanics have been revised to adapt them to the new scenery. You only have two accessories left to survive the next five nights: your hearing and a lantern .

Monsters can sneak through four possible entrances: the two doors leading to the hallways, the closet, and the bed. You will need to get closer to the half-open doors and listen carefully to what is going on outside.

Suddenly, sounds play a major role in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. It is also your lifeline. At the slightest sound of breathing, close the door! If you can’t hear anything, light your lantern and watch the hallways and closet. Do you think you saw a shadow? Be careful the next time you open the door a crack.

In the previous episodes, the cameras in your monitoring station put a certain distance between you and the monsters. This time around, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 forces you to face danger all the time . The hallways, the wardrobe, the bed are a threat and the tension caused by the sounds of breaths give this final chapter all its terrifying dimension.

Surviving the first night shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. On the other hand, from the third, the difficulty intensifies, the tension too. You will have to use all your agility to close the door and control your little refuge as the strange noises will redouble everywhere. Deliciously stressful !

The best thrills of the series

You can’t stop shaking, and that’s what makes the game so strong. Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 gives you a variety of thrills to keep you from falling into the horror routine. Each monster has its own unique way of scaring people and you never know what to expect. Not to spoil anything, the animations have been the subject of a real improvement.

However, we would have liked a little more variety in the decorations . Staying confined to the kid’s room is nothing frustrating and it’s a shame that we can’t venture into the other rooms of the house …

As for the controls, they may have changed to adapt to the new mechanics, you will master them in no time. The possible actions are: leave the doors closed, turn the lantern on and off, move and turn around. Necessity being law, you will quickly understand how each action works.

A great episode, but is it really the last?

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is the scariest episode of the series thanks to its new ingredients: the child’s room (without any security system!), Monitoring of the slightest noise, the absence of distance between the monsters and you, the new animations. If you’re looking for the thrills, this Final Chapter will keep you awake for nights !

Finally and without revealing anything about the fall of the story, I very much doubt that this FNaF 4: The Final Chapter is really the last episode of the series. The game gives the key to some puzzles of FNaF 1, FNaF 2 and FNaF 3, or at least it gives us some clues. But the mystery still remains . What to hope to pay a good slice of jitters on the occasion of a future Five Nights at Freddy’s 5 … who knows?
