The player must earn money to pass the stages, and the most convenient way to achieve this is by doing work for the bands. Each of the bands represents a faction, with specific interests and respect for the player that varies according to his actions.
Respect influences both the way the gang members treat them (if the level of respect is too low, the player will be attacked with all the weapons they have available), as well as the missions they give (more respect, higher quest offer, more difficulty, but higher reward). Doing missions for one gang has a negative influence on another or others: each gang has a rival gang, so if members of that rival gang are killed, respect for the former will rise.
