Ultimate Spider-Man is a comic book published in 2000 by Marvel Comics, detailing the adventures of Spider-Man in a modern version, to win a younger audience that has sometimes been intimidated by the nearly forty years of publication.

It was created by cartoonists Mark Bagley and Brian Michael Bendis who extended Spider-Man’s classic origins from 11 pages to a 180-page story arc. The duo worked together from #1 to #110 regularly in the title with Stuart Immonen replacing Bagley in the comics. After the last issue of the series, #133 continues under the name ultimate comics: Spider-Man.
Unlike Spider-Man’s original continuity concept, Ultimate Spider-Man focuses heavily on genetic engineering that includes other elements, such as radiation, magic, aliens and space opera. Miles Morales became the new Spider-Man after the apparent death of Peter Parker.
