Michael Wolf reviewed Nintendo’s version of the video game for Next Generation magazine, rating it four out of five stars, and said that “While Ridge Racer 64 will feel very familiar to Ridge Racer fans, it offers enough features and bonuses to make it a must-have for any N64 racer.” 18
The N64 version received “favorable” reviews, while the new version of DS received “mixed” reviews, according to the Metacritic review aggregator website.
